Work Program gives 15 year olds a special place at Surprise Lake Camp. It combines the best parts of being a camper with a chance to experience some of the responsibilities and benefits of being staff. Participants in Work Program try their hands at various camp jobs for four hours each day.
During the rest of the day Surprise Lake Camp Work Program participants can enjoy their favorite camp activities in a specially designed program. Then at night they have the option of socializing with the older campers on Teenside or the younger staff on Mainside.
Applicants must turn 15 by June 30th. Since Work Program treats 15 year olds as young adults and requires a higher level of responsibility than being a camper, an interview is required for every participant. A positive attitude toward working is an absolute requirement.
Interviews for this highly competitive program are held in the fall.
