Join this Immersive Wilderness Experience!
Leave the conventional classroom behind and explore the vast wilderness of Canada’s Yukon territory. On this course, you will explore the wilds of the Yukon’s vast mountains and rushing rivers while mastering basic outdoor skills including cooking, map reading, plant identification, camping, and bear risk management. You will also cover topics including leadership, land management, local history, technical mountain terrain and whitewater canoeing travel, and put these into practice every day. The semester is comprised of two primary sections: mountain backpacking that transitions into mountaineering terrain for the bulk of the route, and then a whitewater canoeing section.
After a semester in the Yukon, you’ll be ready to lead your next adventure, whether it’s at home, at school, or in the backcountry.
