The SMU Mustang Swim Camp goal is for you to have fun while training hard and learning from the best. We offer one of the lowest camper to coach/counselor ratios of elite camps in the country, allowing the campers the opportunity to get individual attention from Olympic coaches, medalists, and NCAA All-Americans.
While at the camp, you will have the opportunity to live in the dorms and eat at the SMU Dining Hall. The daily schedule includes 2 stroke sessions, 1 training session, 1 dryland session, and 1 racing session. The stroke sessions will consist of a lecture and drill work with SMU head men's coach (and coach of 2 Olympic gold medalists) Eddie Sinnott. Coach Sinnott is known for his ability to relate stroke technique and drills to younger swimmers, and give them drills they can use throughout their careers. The training session takes place in SMU's beautiful outdoor 50 meter pool under the direction of Coach Collins. The racing session is also conducted in the outdoor 50 meter pool, and gives you the opportunity to showcase the new skills you have learned. The assistant SMU men's and women's coaches, other coaches from around the country, and current SMU swimmers will also be on deck during these sessions to give you additional feedback. Above and below water filming will be done throughout the camp and campers will receive feedback on their technique while watching their video footage
