The Critical Issues Summit is a curiosity-driven, action-oriented two-week gathering of 100 change makers from around the world. The Summit will bring together high school students from over 20 countries for one week of immersion and one week of action oriented programming for positive change.
This unique opportunity will allow students to explore one of five global critical issues before participating in a conference featuring issue experts, workshops, and community building. Join teens from more than 20 countries across the globe and delegates from local communities most impacted by the critical issues students will explore. Move towards making real change with a $10,000 design challenge to support innovative solutions to one of the critical issues.
The Critical Issues
Laos – Globalization: How sustainable is the current pace of global growth?
Vietnam – Access to Education: Is it a right for all people?
Myanmar and Thailand – Refugee Crises: Should we close borders to people in need?
Thailand – Gender Equality: How long until we reach equality?
Cambodia – Access to Water: Is there enough on the planet?
Students will spend the first week examining one of the above critical issues. Indicate which tracks you prefer by ranking your top three choices in the Special Instructions box of the enrollment form. Students will be placed in their top choice on a first-come-first-served basis. If there isn’t enough interest in one program track, we will use students’ second and third choices to place them.
