Ancient Splendor and Floating Villages! Experience an off the map journey through undiscovered Cambodia. 4 programs to choose from!
Rustic Pathways first ventured into this controversial country in 1999, and since then our operations have expanded to include a headquarters in Phnon Penh and a base in Kampong Cham. We're proud to provide essential year-round services in Cambodia, and this is reflected in the extremely service-oriented nature of our four current adventure programs. Marvel at the ancient splendor of Angkor Wat and cruise past unbelievable floating villages. Learn from the painful past and hopeful future of the resilient Khmer people through conversations with locals and visits to exhibitions. Immerse yourself in local life as you teach English to eager school children, examine real world challenges of local communities in need, and transform the future of remote communities.
Floating Village Service Expedition -- for two weeks travel through the Tonle Sap waterways by riverboat, completing community service projects in a floating village and spending time with your homestay family. Journey through Battambang province’s fertile rice fields, take a trip on a bamboo train and hike up to hill-top temples. Learn about Cambodia’s ancient and modern history as you tour the genocide museums in Phnom Penh and explore the ancient temples of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap.
Off the Map: Cambodia -- a three-week backroad, service-heavy adventure through Cambodia's cities, beaches, mountains, and most remote regions. Experience homestay in a floating village and explore Angkor Wat and its surrounding temples.
Access to Education: Cambodia -- Spend the week enriching the lives of Cambodian children by teaching English and work on other community improvement projects with a local organization, the BSDA (Buddhism for Social Development Action).
