This summer, experience one of the most challenging and rewarding opportunities for young artists and designers. Collaborate with MICA expert faculty, visit working professionals, earn college credit, learn how to put together an application portfolio that stands out, and dramatically expand your creative skills. Live, learn, and socialize on campus with other creative-minded students like you from all over the world. In addition, travel to the global centers of art and design: New York, Washington, DC, and Philadelphia. How's that for summer vacation?

Students will develop their art portfolios, and meet leading artists who help them develop strong art college applications. Choose from among 26 core courses across various disciplines, while exploring both contemporary art and notable masterpieces at galleries and museums from New York to Washington, DC. 

BALTIMORE
The Pre-College Art & Design Residency Summer Program in Baltimore offers a 2-week, 3-week, and 5-week option for a college-level experience on the campus of MICA, one of the nations top colleges of art and design. The rigorous curriculum allows you to choose from among 26 core courses in fine arts, design, photography, and digital art, along with focused studio workshops. You will study in the heart of the East Coast Art Corridor, exploring both contemporary art and notable masterpieces at galleries and museums from New York to Washington, DC, while enhancing your portfolio and earning three college credits.

MICAs Pre-College Art & Design Residency Program is an unparalleled opportunity to experience firsthand the challenges and excitement of college-level art study covering a broad range of subjects. One of the most intensely creative and rigorous summer programs of its kind in the nation, this serious studio environment attracts students from across the country and around the world. In-depth, intense studio instruction is combined with a workshop that introduces new media and art skills. Evening and weekend activities broaden cultural horizons and students enjoy Baltimores hip, esoteric style that has long made it a mecca for artists.

Pre-college summer students also experience residential life at MICA, recognized nationally as the standard in student living for artists and designers. Students live on the MICA campus with other art students a rare opportunity to see what its like to live, study, and create art at one of the most prestigious colleges of art and design.

In addition to core studio classes, workshops are offered once a week for students to experiment with materials, research / execute new ideas, and acquire new skills and techniques in a specific area.
