The Marist College Summer Pre-College: Film & TV Production two-week program provides students of all abilities the opportunity to elevate their cinema and television skills with the help of passionate peers and experienced faculty.
Hosted by Marist College, a leader in technology education, and based at the school’s picturesque Hudson River campus in Poughkeepsie, the Summer Pre-College: Film & TV Production program teaches students video production skills by immersing them in a premium educational environment, enabling them to create projects using software employed by nearly every major motion picture and television production. Students also engage with their peers, building lifelong social connections and abilities. Helmed by a longtime video production professional and expert in the Avid film and editing system, the program offers students a hands-on approach to learning from experienced and attentive faculty.
Program goals include learning the craft of storytelling through screenwriting and script development, obtain and hone high definition video production skills using the latest equipment, building confidence, gaining confidence in collaborative work and Learn nonlinear digital video and sound editing on industry-standard editing systems.
The Pre-College: Film & TV Production program is set at Marist College’s Hudson River campus, a location steeped in American history and surrounded by natural beauty and recreational opportunities. A typical day consists of class in the morning and afternoon, along with meals provided by Marist, study and social time. Activities are planned by staff and have included karaoke, game night, smores, etc.
