Lawrence Hall of Science Camp : Science in the Kitchen (held at the Edible Schoolyard in Berkeley)

  • (Done in collaboration with the Edible Schoolyard Project and held at their Berkeley site)
  • Enrollment: 20 campers 
  • Entering Grades 6–7

Learn to cook with science at the Edible Schoolyard in Berkeley. Using kitchen and garden classrooms, you will experience the ease and accomplishment of cooking your own food with others. As you perform daily science and cooking experiments, you will feature ingredients harvested from the garden. Many questions and connections will be explored: What can science teach you about baking the perfect cookie? What do frittatas and salads have in common? How can science make the best ice cream ever? Come explore these questions, and more,with science in the kitchen.
