Landmark College's Transition to College program is for recent high school graduates preparing to enter college in the fall. The program is focused on preparing college-bound high school graduates - through practice and exposure - for their crucial first semester of college.
Landmark College's Transition to College Program helps students with learning differences prepare for the challenging transition from high school to college, and from home to residence hall. Landmark's residential summer program is for high school graduates who are seeking new techniques for achieving success throughout their academic journey. (Admission to a college other than Landmark is required to participate.)
Students are immersed in a living and learning experience that offers a real taste of college-level work and the challenges they will encounter as college freshmen. Students develop a clear understanding of their learning strengths and needs, while discovering various resources and self-advocacy aids that will assist them in the transition to college.
In this program, students will:
- Learn to articulate individual learning strengths and challenges
- Identify the specific supports and accommodations they'll need in college - and how to access them
- Experience an introductory college-level lecture class
- Learn and practice self-advocacy skills essential to navigating through freshman year
- Apply organizational skills, helpful habits, and useful behaviors they'll need to succeed at college - and identify problem habits and behaviors that might surface during their freshman year
Note: For admission to this program, students must provide a letter of admission to a four-year college or university. A diagnosed learning disability is not required to participate in this program.

Cost and Session Information
Tuition costs $3,825, plus a $50 refundable damage deposit. The cost includes double occupancy residence hall room, all meals and activities.
Program Dates: Friday, July 19, 2020 through Saturday, August 1, 2020
An Academic Transcript or Grade Report is required with the application. Acceptance requires a letter of admission to a four-year college or university. ACT or SAT scores should be provided if available. Psycho-educational testing, a recent IEP or state testing is recommended, though a learning disability diagnosis is not required for this program.
