Offered by the University of Pennsylvania School of Design, the summer art program for high school students allows you to experience diverse teaching styles which are combined with open studio hours and field trips to various art institutions and create your portfolio.
The University of Pennsylvania School of Design offers an unparalleled 4 week summer art program for high school students. This pre-college art program prepares students for college admissions and allows them to work with Penn faculty and other young artists from around the world, experiment with different artistic disciplines, learn new skills and build a visual portfolio. The curriculum is based off of the undergraduate PennDesign courses, but designed specifically for the skill and experience of the high school students. Students also use the studios, resources, and dorms, just like undergraduate students, providing a rare opportunity to live and work like real art students at Penn. Students will also display their work in a final exhibition in Penn’s art gallery at the end of the program.
Residential students live at the University of Pennsylvania in Penn’s famous Quad and experience evening activities and weekend trips to places such as Washington D.C, NYC, and NJ beaches.
