Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth knows bright kids.
CTY has more than 35 years of experience challenging students with advanced academic talent to reach their full potential and pursue their love of learning through our summer, online, and family programs.
Every summer, bright students from around the world come to the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth to explore their academic interests, meet other bright students, and grow, both personally and intellectually. CTY offers Summer Programs in residential and day formats at college, university, and independent-school campuses on the east and west coasts of the United States and Hong Kong. Each class is small, with an average of 12-18 students, and is led by an instructor and teaching assistant who are expert in the content and in connecting with and engaging advanced learners. Outside the classroom, students participate in a variety of fun social activities.
The residential programs, for students in grades 5-12, are highly structured and include many group activities and all-campus events. Students take one course over a three-week session. Most courses for grades 7 and above cover roughly a college semester's worth of material, while fast-paced science courses cover roughly a year's worth of high school material. Weekends at residential sites feature talent shows, quiz bowls, and socials, as well as time to relax.
