Overview

Explore British traditions and modern UK society alike. Contribute to a meaningful service project for people in-need. Exchange stories through your shared language. And experience authentic London on an excursion to this world-class city.

The UK is a wealthy nation, but not all residents benefit from the same advantages. There is an 18 year life expectancy gap between the richest and poorest in British society, and you’ll be helping some of those who have been marginalized the most. We’ll volunteer with a community in-need, where you'll get to interact with UK locals, including children, as you share in their stories. Help improve the conditions in the community through a meaningful service project. Be a friend and role model as you help to make a difference.

The United Kingdom is a living classroom, and you'll get to experience an incredible amount of it during your weeks here. Cherish the richness of culture here as you also confront its long and complicated history, both as a world power and as a class-based society. Through your shared language, learn about everything from the trials of city life in London, to the inequalities affecting life in the countryside. Like many global cities, London will open your eyes to the vast diversity of the people living there, and you'll see a whole spectrum of artistic endeavors, from street art - think Banksy - to high art during your visit. While in the country, you'll participate in the inviting art of English afternoon tea.

You'll spend a significant chunk of time exploring London during your excursion to the this world-renowned city, where you’ll get to stare up at Big Ben with your own eyes. While there, experience the Embankment in London, where world-famous icons like Parliament loom large. Visit Tower Bridge, one of the best known pieces of architecture in Western Europe. Outside the city, see lively neighborhoods and charming villages alike. Encounter ancient castles and churches, and even check out a game of cricket, all while exploring the lush and vibrant landscape of this island nation.
