Students explore the world of biotechnology through hands-on projects, access to cutting-edge technology, and interactive lab work. Along with experiential learning, students visit D.C. area labs working in biotech. By the end of camp, students will be able to connect events occuring on the molecular level and their effect in the real world.
Join us this summer at Episcopal High School for a week-long immersion into the exciting world of Biotechnology! Students explore this cutting-edge and expanding field the best way: through hands-on projects, interactive lab work in Episcopal's state-of-the-art Baker Science Center and at several of D.C.'s world-class research facilities and biotech companies. Access to and the use of the gadgets, top-line technology, and research facilities not only provides the opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of biotechnology and its principles, but also captivates and inspires their passion for the field.
The camp not only explores the principles and fundamentals that make up the "Central Dogma of Molecular Biology," it also leverages hands-on experimentation and access to the cutting-edge technology and gadgets of many of today's most advanced biological research into an ongoing passion for the field. By the end of the biotech experience, students will be able to bridge their interactive experiments to how they can positively impact the world around them - and will have seen first-hand these applications and their impact on genomics and medicine.
