The EHS Young Writers Workshop provides students with an intensive five-day course of instruction in written communication skills and offers multiple opportunities for students to practice public speaking. The course will focus on three types of writing: creative, persuasive, and analytical.
Venture into Washington, D.C., to find material for new persuasive and creative writing in this five-day immersive experience. Students will develop their writing by dissecting the work of published authors and participating in official peer feedback and critique sessions. Focused instruction will give students the framework and techniques they need to write effectively and present their writing to the group. The week culminates in a formal reading in which students showcase their favorite works to family and friends.
