    Overview

This intensive course in video production will equip students with the necessary skills to produce documentary and artistic videos in a fun and challenging curriculum. High school aged campers will be divided into production groups and will cover pre-production, production, and post-production fundamentals as we create a series of music-focused videos. Find out more!

We will work with a local music producer to create videos ranging from documentary to purely artistic and each group will have experience in each video produced. Campers will learn advanced digital camera skills, editing in Final Cut Studio and Motion. Fundamental skills covered will include: composition and framing, exposure, lighting, sound design, interviewing, essential editing, post-production finishing, a focus on writing, direction, advanced production equipment, special effects, and detail refinement. Guest speakers from Duke’s Center for Documentary Studies and Arts of the Moving Image will elaborate on several of the concepts taught and will give higher-level insights. Some prior experience is assumed, but this camp will cater to all students, whether novice or seasoned vlogger.
