Overview

Become fluent in the Italian language and cuisine.

There’s no better place for an Italian immersion than in this small, easy-to-navigate, university city in northeast Italy. Talented teachers will guide you to knowledge of the language. Stroll through the bike-friendly streets, explore ancient palaces and architectural wonders, and find yourself immersed in a warm and wonderful culture. With university students making up roughly 10 percent of the population, learning is a local specialty and as much a centerpiece of daily life as fine foods. The language skills and experiences you’ll gain here will equip you for many more explorations throughout Italy. Each day, after morning language classes, you’ll head out on the town and speak Italian independently in shops and markets throughout the city. Living with a local host family, you’ll practice your Italian as you prepare and share meals, shop at local markets, learn local customs, and enjoy everyday life. By the end of your stay, your proficiency will have grown by leaps and bounds.
