Centenary Summer Scholars: Introduction to Psychology

Sustainability is an important new concept that is entering almost all fields of study and professional development. This Major was developed exclusively for the program, and will be taught this summer, by College faculty member Cindy Case.

The overall theme of this course is ?the ability of humanity to ensure that it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.? Sustainability is based on a simple principle: everything that we need for our survival and well being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment.

Topics covered include Environmental Science and Sustainability, Environment, Biodiversity, Conservation, Population and Consumption, Water, Soil and Food Production, as well as Energy: Renewable v. Non-renewable Resources.
