Catholic Charities CYO: Miwok Village Teen
Overview
In the historic Miwok Village of CYO Camp, teen campers ages 14-17 reconnect with themselves as they unplug from modern technology and take a break from the fast pace of their everyday life. Each session features an overnight campout and hiking on the Sonoma Coast.
Sixty miles north of San Francisco near the historic town of Occidental, CYO Camp is a Catholic community where, for more than 65 years, children of all religious backgrounds learn the values of caring, honesty, fairness, respect, and responsibility, in a challenging and nurturing natural environment.
With programs rich in tradition, CYO Summer Camp creates an environment where youth can explore the world around them and develop powerful friendships that will last a lifetime. Summer days are filled with activities including swimming, gaga ball, team building games, canoeing, and nature hikes, just to name a few. Counselors host exciting evening events such as talent shows, campfires, dances, and sleeping under the stars. Each day campers are invited to select an elective activity that fits their individual interests. Whether they choose sports, theatre, aquatics, nature, or art, all electives are designed to help campers gain confidence, spark creativity, and foster personal values.
