Every July, the Young Leaders Program at the University of Melbourne provides the opportunity for high school students aged 14 -17 the chance to explore future study and career interests, develop their skills and make friends from around the world.
Students follow an academic stream for one week, with options to enroll for one or two weeks. Academic streams include STEM, humanities, business, design, psychology, performing arts and leadership development. Students participate in mini-lectures, workshops, hear from industry experts and take field trips. Throughout YLP, students are guided by a team of university student mentors.

Cost and Session Information
AU$1,990 per week (approximately US$1,350). The program fee includes tuition, room and board, mentoring, airport transfers, excursions, extracurricular activities, return airport transfers and other activities arranged by the University. Excludes flights, visas, travel insurance and spending money.
YLP North America Scholarships
The University offers three YLP North America scholarships. The scholarship covers the YLP program fee for one week. Scholarship recipients have the option to enroll in the 2nd week as fee-paying students.
The scholarships are open to high school students aged 14 - 17 of any nationality. in the US and Canada Entry requirements include GPA 3.0, video essay on global citizenship, personal statement, reference letter from school or community organization and evidence of passport.
Scholarship applications will open in early 2020 and run through March 2020. Scholarship applicants do not need to also submit a general YLP application.
