Amigos de las Americas (AMIGOS) is a leader in international youth development, supporting young people across the Americas in leadership training and collaborative community development projects. We are creating a world in which young people become life-long catalysts for social change.
Participants support environmental projects and carry out health activities with AMIGOS partner agencies, the Ministerio de Salud (Ministry of Health) and the Autoridad Nacional del Ambiente (National Environmental Authority). Panamanian youth from Guna Yala, an indigenous population that lives on islands off the Atlantic coast of Panama, serve as Latin American volunteers. Between participating in reforestation efforts and organizing fun and informative games for local youth, participants will keep busy this summer in Azuero.
