We offer exciting, rewarding outdoor adventure education for youth ages 12-18 ranging in length from 5-20 days. Teen Wilderness Adventures combine one or more outdoor activities--like hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, --with spectacular destinations.
Embrace your inner explorer on this backpacking trip that takes you away from the crowds to more pristine areas to have a more authentic wilderness experience. Enjoy the hidden gems and best kept secrets of the White Mountain region as you backpack from one backcountry campsite to the next with your group, making new friends and gaining new experiences along the way. For ages: 13-15 General Itinerary: Day 1: After an introductory meeting with instructors, group and parents, gear is checked and issued.. After Lunch the group heads to the trailhead and begins their hike to the first campsite where they learn about camp set up, cooking on a camp stove, and sleeping comfortably in the backcountry. Day 2: The group works together to break down camp. Goes over their route for the day, and hit the trail for their next camp site stopping for lunch and breaks along the way. After arriving in camp, the group may play a game, or participate in team initiatives, or have some down time to reflect on their experience in the outdoors. Day 3-4: The group continues to travel to more back country campsites, refining their outdoor skills, and developing friendships and enjoying scenic views and exploring areas that fewer people venture in the area due to their wild and remote nature. The group may also stay two nights in the same campsite in order to take advantage of a day-hike with lighter packs to a nearby summit in order to enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding wilderness. Day 5: The group will hike out to the trailhead, where they will be picked up and transported back to Pinkham Notch. They will have lunch, de-issue borrowed equipment and debrief their trip before being picked up in the afternoon.
