When backpacking, we camp at designated tenting areas and learn Leave No Trace techniques to protect wild and beautiful areas. For kayaking, you will navigate the rapids of rivers such as the Androscoggin. We will learn kayaking techniques, and how to use the currents to your advantage.
Explore the wilds of the White Mountains, and ride the rapids of New Hampshire's best whitewater. The group will backpack three to eight miles each day over rugged terrain and camp each night in a shelter, tent area, or other low-impact site. We'll explore the rapids of rivers, such as the Androscoggin, during the day and return to base camp each night. Programs start on flat water to learn skills and practice wet exits, then move onto moving water, and finally to Class I, II, and possibly III whitewater. Trip planned forages 13-15.
