Summer Theatre at Alfred University provides a great opportunity for students to create, experience, and develop perspectives and skills in theater through full group sessions and with a good deal of individual attention.
Summer Theatre at Alfred University provides students the opportunities to work on improving their skills and developing new levels of expertise in performing and/or technical theater. While students are learning, we also put emphasis on having fun and enjoying our beautiful natural surroundings during their stay.
ACTOR TRAINING: including text analysis, character development, improvisation, staging, voice production and movement.
TECHNICAL THEATRE: including costume, stage managing, scenery, and lighting.
VOICE AND VOICE DEVELOPMENT
A minimum of one field trip to a professional theatre is part of the schedule where students have an opportunity to tour and view a professional performance. At the end of the program students will participate in a public performance of scenes and at least one rehearsed short play.
