This co-ed, STEM overnight summer camp offers computing experiences for both basic and advanced students offering a concentration on essential computing concepts, programming and web development.
Students are introduced to these topics through a variety of activities and have the opportunity to work at their own computer station. They will also learn on their own and within a group setting. Creative and practical computer concepts and skill sets will be covered, however, the emphasis also is on having fun.
Throughout the camp's sessions, students will be exposed to a variety of programming and scripting languages and technologies. Each topic is designed to build on overall understanding to produce different applications that they can take home.
Topics include an overview and lab activities for the following essential concepts focusing on building their understanding of:
- Computer Processing and Processing Models
- Computer hardware Uses and Configurations
- Computer Networking and Software Engineering Concepts
- Cybersecurity Concepts
Web Development & Design focusing on:
- Development using Scripting Languages and Libraries
- Interface Design
- Basic Mobile Application Development
- Enhanced End-user Interactions
When not in class, students enjoy planned activities on campus and have free time for relaxation. Living, dining and learning together, provide opportunities for everyone to get to know each other and to develop lasting friendships.
