Overview

Summer Advantage is an all-inclusive high school study abroad program that provides students (16-18) the opportunity to experience university life while earning college credit taking courses in foreign language or liberal arts.

Summer Advantage provides high school students ages 16-18 the opportunity to experience an international educational program in a prestigious university setting and get a head start earning college credit in subjects they wish to study during college. Experienced AIFS staff provide supervision and support throughout the program. Destinations include: Argentine, Austria, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, England, France, Ireland, Italy, Russian, and Spain.

Program locations include: San Jose, Costa Rica; London, England; Paris, France; Rome, Italy; and Granada, Spain.

These programs offer students a taste of university life and help them strengthen their prospects for acceptance at a leading university through foreign language study or liberal arts courses abroad. Along with getting a head start on one or more of the subjects they wish to study in college, students will receive university credit and an official transcript from the foreign institution. Most U.S. colleges accept transfer credits for completed courses from the programs.

Summer Advantage affords high school students the opportunity to increase their confidence and challenge themselves in an international setting, knowing that they will have the support of professional AIFS staff on their campus abroad.

The program fee covers transcripts for college credit, housing, a meal plan, tours and excursions, insurance, and the support of full-time, on-site staff. For your convenience, each program location offers an optional AIFS Transportation Package, which includes airfare and airport transfers.

Summer Advantage is a program of the American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS), which has provided high quality, academically enriching programs to over 1.5 million participants since 1964.
