Located in northern Michigan, Interlochen Arts Academy boarding high school prepares young artists for rewarding careers and fosters academic excellence. Major areas of study include music, theatre, comparative arts, creative writing, motion picture arts, dance, and visual arts.
Interlochen Arts Academy is a fine arts boarding high school in northwest Michigan. Each year 500 students from around the world come to the scenic, wooded campus at Interlochen looking for greater opportunities to learn, create and perform. We offer grades 9-12, as well as a post-graduate year. Students may attend their entire high school career here, or transfer in as a sophomore, junior, senior or post-grad.

Comprehensive college-preparatory classes prepare students for future success - in any field. Students attend class from 8:30am to 6:00pm each day, merging accelerated academic instruction with intensive artistic studies. Arts and academic instructors collaborate to provide a holistic approach to learning where math, science, history and literature complement a student's creativity. The academic faculty use students' strengths as creative learners to develop greater appreciation for academic subjects. The process opens students' eyes to the sciences and humanities while preparing them for the rigors of the world's most competitive colleges and universities.
