This program is for those who have a great sense of adventure and a love of the outdoors. Participants learn and apply practical outdoor skills and survival tactics while exploring the varied terrain of GA’s 120 acre campus, and adjacent park land along the Wissahickon Creek. Find out more!
We'll become familiar with elementary survival skills including basic emergency first aid, sheltering, fire building, water safety, wilderness nutrition, wildlife tracking, establishing a camp site, as well as hiking, fishing, and navigation skills.
The instructor is a very experienced outdoor skills instructor and certified in Wilderness First Aid (National Outdoor Leadership School trained). Safe, ecological outdoor skills and approaches will be shared and demonstrated throughout the week.
Campers are welcome to bring their own freshwater fishing tackle; otherwise, tackle will be provided.
