    Overview

Have you ever dreamed of traveling to a developing country, spending your time in a purposeful way, and immersing yourself in a different culture? Volunteering abroad offers a transformative experience, allowing you to broaden your perspective in ways that a classroom setting simply cannot provide.

Maximo Nivel is a locally-based organization operating in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Peru. Since 2003, we’ve been working directly with community projects, and thanks to dedicated volunteers like you, the positive impact we’ve made continues to grow year after year. We understand that planning an overseas trip and finding meaningful opportunities to make a difference can be challenging. As part of the community and cultural landscape, we invite you to join us in Latin America and experience firsthand how you can contribute as a global citizen. Our volunteer abroad programs connect globally-minded individuals with international projects that need support, allowing you to learn, serve, and make a real impact. International service learning is an immersive experience that combines work, study, and travel, all aimed at benefiting local communities and project sites. Volunteering abroad takes you out of your comfort zone, offering a unique, exciting, and sometimes challenging opportunity to engage in a new way of life and give back. These programs typically range from 1 to 52 weeks, offering short- to mid-term itineraries that allow you to explore global issues and discover how you can make a difference. Through this experience, you not only learn to serve but also gain insights into yourself and what you can contribute to the world. This is what we refer to as "learning to serve."
