The “Girls Empowered in the Medicine (GEMS)” Program, a comprehensive series of medical immersive experiences for middle school girls, was designed with these statistics in mind. GEMS consists of a series of one-day to one week experiences in the Greater New York City Area (applications coming soon!) with the goal of bringing girls closer to a career in medicine.
