Tufts Pre-College Intensive: Lab Science Investigations
Overview
Based on our very popular Tufts Research Experience and Tufts Summer Research Experience programs, our new Lab Sciences Investigations Intensive is intended to give students a head start on basic lab skills in preparation for higher level research programs and/or undergraduate level lab courses. Lab Sciences Investigations consists of stackable modules that allow for student choice in topics. Each module offers a similar format: an ntroduction into basic lab skills and concepts (lab notebooks, how to craft a scientific question, etc.), followed by a small scale experiment. Students will move from basic lab understanding to experiment phase over the course of four full days, split over two weeks. Each Monday is spent in a larger full-group session exploring general knowledge/career exploration. Students will end each of their modules by presenting their final products and experiment findings.
