Journey around the entire country of Iceland on this epic Nordic road trip open exclusively to older teen travelers! Adventure awaits around every corner as you soak in bubbling hot springs, ride majestic Icelandic ponies, and gaze in awe at the thousands of waterfalls dotting the rugged landscape. Find out more!

Breathtaking waterfalls, immense glaciers, spectacular volcanoes, and some of the richest wildlife on the planet…It’s no wonder that Iceland is one of the world’s hottest travel destinations! This remote European country is just waiting for you to discover its hidden treasures.

We’ll begin in the hip city of Reykjavik, home to funky street art, artisan boutiques, and some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. From there we’ll road-trip around the entire country following the Ring Road, making stops along the way to soak in one of the world’s most untouched countries. You’ll have the chance to snorkel in the fissure where the European and American tectonic plates meet, hear the roar of waterfalls as you stand behind the cascading water, and hang out with puffins as they roost on the cliffs! Go for a soak in not just one, but several natural hot springs, including the famous Blue Lagoon. This trip is ideal for anyone who loves nature, off-the-beaten-path travel destinations, and adrenaline-inducing adventure activities.

Our Older Teen programs are carefully crafted with 11th and 12th graders in mind. We do not just take our standard programs and open certain dates to an older age group without changing the itineraries. Instead, we understand that older teens require a different type of program, and need itineraries with more challenges and independence to help them grow and encourage even more confidence with traveling. These programs are designed to nurture older teens and teach them to be more independent and savvy travelers. Because as you grow, your interests and needs do too. So get ready to hike in the amazing Dimmuborgir Lava Forest, ride the majestic Icelandic horses, and make new friends from around the world. Cross fjords, kayak through a beautiful harbor to a shipwreck, and of course go on a whale watch, all while learning to be an independent traveler!

I was lucky enough to travel to Iceland with TFT the first summer they ran the program (summer 2017), and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Traveling the ring road of Iceland proved to be the best way to see all of Iceland and what it has to offer. Though I was unable to pronounce half of the places we visited, it was extremely special to travel to small towns like Seydisfjordur and Stykkisholmur that most tourists to Iceland don’t get to see. Iceland is a truly unique and special country, and this trip provided me with the opportunity to see all of the famous, breathtaking waterfalls, while also allowing me to kayak in the fjords, from a town of less than 500 people. Whether it was hiking on glaciers or swimming in between continental plates in the Silfra fissure, this trip never failed to amaze me.

This trip was amazing!!! It was my first trip abroad alone without my family and I absolutely loved it!! TFT handled everything so well and made sure every teen was included. The counselors made sure everyone was always having fun and that there was always a positive atmosphere. They took care of everything so well. One teen even had his suitcase left in the US by the airline and they made sure that he got his bag as soon as possible. They handled everything so well. TFT also had all of the best activities and excursions that I wouldn’t have been able to find if I planned the trip myself. I cannot say enough good things about TFT and I can’t wait for my next trip with them this summer!!!
