Oolite Arts strives to be a leader in the South Florida contemporary cultural scene as a creative learning center and internationally recognized as a world-class cultural center.
The Oolite Arts – Skills: Teen Artist Residency invites 30 teen artists from Miami-Dade County to participate in one of two 4-week residencies to work under the tutelage of Miami-based teaching artists during the summer. During the program, students will attend a 2-hour virtual session on Monday, Wednesday and Friday hosted by a different teaching artist each week. They will learn about the artists’ practice and work on a project assigned by the teaching artist. The goal for this program is to give the teen artists an opportunity to work on their artistic practice in a non-academic setting. Each participant will receive a complimentary art supply box for each lesson plan curated by Oolite Arts Education & Community Engagement Manager and the teaching artists. In addition, both the teen artists and the teaching artists will receive an honorarium for their time. Please note that all sessions will be taking place online via Zoom.
