    Overview

Quest Therapeutic Camp of Pittsburgh offers both summer camp and after school programs. The 7-week summer program operates out of Universal Academy of Pittsburgh in Swissvale.

Campers select individualized goals and receive consistent feedback on these goals from counselors throughout the camp day. Daily group therapy provides specific skills and assists resolution of group dynamics as they occur. The Pittsburgh program has a strong Positive Behavior Support approach. Campers are celebrated for their uniqueness, while simultaneously recognizing that everyone at camp is working towards social/emotional goals they selected during their initial in person screening with April (Camp Director). A typical camp day includes standard summer camp activities (outdoor games, crafts, science experiments, trips out into the community, swimming, etc.) combined with the consistency of feedback from counselors and a Positive Behavior Support approach. Counselors include upper division undergraduate and graduate students. Interns come from local universities who offer Master's level studies in counseling such as Chatham, Carlow, etc.

Quest is also qualified as an Extended School Year program (ESY) and we are proud to be included in approved programs by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit since our inception. School districts from all over Allegheny County (and beyond) choose to send their students to us for ESY placement. Quest addresses campers' individual IEP goals related to emotional and social functioning and provides ongoing reports to the school districts.
