Join a group of motivated girls to explore the wilderness. On this course for 14- and 15-year-olds, you’ll dive into learning leadership and outdoor skills as you backpack through the mountains of Olympic National Park or North Cascades National Park. Climb to the tops of jagged peaks and wander evergreen forests. Learn about local ecology as you backpack through wide plateaus and cross rivers. Find out more!

The difference with this course is it's all girls! There are many benefits of learning alongside other girls. Over the years we have seen that girls develop deep and meaningful relationships with both their peers and the instructors, thus allowing them to grow and learn in a very supportive environment.  Take the adventure of a lifetime this summer as you trek into the heart of the rugged mountains of the Pacific Northwest with a group of motivated girls.  Learn what it takes to get to the top of the peak and how to thrive while you’re camping in the wilderness (you might even make cinnamon rolls while you’re out there!). If you’re ready to take on real leadership and learn the outdoor skills you need to take your own camping expeditions in the future, then this is the course for you. Even if you’ve never been camping before, this course is a great way to learn more about the outdoors—and yourself.

You will begin with learning the basics of wilderness living, including cooking, campsite selection, stove use, and Leave No Trace practices. As you progress, you will cover more advanced topics, including map reading, first aid, leadership, plant and animal identification, ecosystems, geology, weather, and environmental issues. Along the way, you will have real opportunities to put your new leadership and outdoor skills into practice every day. You’ll get to see some of the most spectacular wilderness in the United States.

At the end of this course, you’ll walk away with real experiences that will help you be a leader at school, at home, and for the rest of your life.
