You will complete routine eye exams, which they do daily, but you’ll also learn how to diagnose eye diseases, how to treat glaucoma and other degenerative diseases, and what issues must be surgically corrected. There are also Ophthalmologists who specialize in Pediatric Ophthalmology, making pivotal decisions regarding children’s eye health. There are many avenues of Ophthalmology you may have never thought of! Heard of Neuro Ophthalmology, the specialization in vision problems that relate to your nervous system? There is also Ocular Oncology, the specialization of cancer of the eye. Endless fascinating specialties and sub-specialties!
