Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) is a public institution of higher education with a distinctly international focus. Students from over 100 countries choose their international degrees and pre-college programs, making for more than 30% of enrollment. With strong rankings and top employability records this is one of the more selective institutions in the EU. The Pre-College program offers high school students workshops where they engage in hands-on experiences that help them understand how professionals have succeeded in contributing to society, in fields including: Contemporary Art & Photography, Gender Roles & Television, Management & Technology, Additive Manufacturing, Cyber Security, Robotics, and Biomedicine. This summer session has both day and residential options and can be combined with group travel after the one-week program has concluded.
Pre-College Day Program: Monday July 4 through Friday July 8, from 9.00 am until 2.00 pm. Cost for the Day Program is 600 euros, including a 200-euro application fee. This option includes 7 workshops and university-level experiences.
Pre-College Residential Program: Sat. July 2 through Sat. July 9. Cost for the Residential Program is 1,750 euros, including a 200-euro application fee. The residential program provides the following items and services:
- Workshops and university-level experiences Monday through Friday from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm
- Cultural visits in Madrid, and or other activies every afternoon and evening
- Living in a Pre-College designated area within one of the UC3M residences, in Getafe (room and board)
- A comprehensive program designed to maximize exposure to cultural and experiential learning opportunities in Madrid
- Tutors supporting you at all times, to ensure your health and safety
- Becoming familiar with the Getafe and Leganes campuses of one of the best universities in Europe
- Enjoying access to the majority of UC3M facilities and services
