    Overview

Climate Change, Cultural Exchange, Indigenous Rights, Permaculture, Revitalization, Sustainability

With almost 20 years of experience working in Guatemala, we’ve created this program to help you gain a new appreciation for Spanish and Guatemalan culture alongside a cohort of peers. Embark on a transformative summer journey to Guatemala, starting with a warm welcome in the vibrant capital of Guatemala City. From the moment you arrive, you'll be immersed in adventure and cultural learning. You'll be transported to the picturesque city of Antigua, where your journey begins with an orientation led by expert Overseas Educators. For your first few days, you'll connect with fellow participants, set intentions for the experience ahead, and indulge in delicious local meals. Your adventure kicks into high gear with two weeks of immersive Spanish language classes. Whether you’re placed in small groups or receive one-on-one instruction, you’ll engage in 3-4 hours of daily language learning. Beyond language, this program offers a rich array of life-skills workshops. You'll have the chance to explore Guatemalan culinary traditions through cooking classes, refine your journaling techniques, and even practice menu planning—all while developing connections with local communities.

    HIGHLIGHTS:

    • Improve your Spanish as you study in small groups and work with locals on service projects.
    • Learn about sustainability and indigenous rights through service projects and local experts.
    • Try your hand at surfing during our final travel on the coast.
