• During 6th and 7th grade I was fortunate enough to have participated in the E=MC2 and Seeds in Residence programs run by the Enrichment Studies Unit (ESU) at Queen's University. As a kid, I struggled to connect with the regular programing taught through my elementary school and often found myself board and unmotivated. When the ESU program was presented to my class I jumped at the opportunity to attend classes in a University setting! During my first year I completed the 'drama and dance' program and after an incredible experience I decided to come back to Queen's to study the 'medical studies and anatomy' program. The educators for this program were so incredible. They made science accessible and fun all while teaching me content that I would have never had the opportunity do learn at school. The ESU program impacted me so strongly that I decided (at age 13) that I was going to do whatever it took to attend Queen's University. I am now 24 and have completed a BAH in Sociology and am in the middle of an MSc in Epidemiology.- both at Queen's. This program is so important and I could not stress enough what ESU has given me. Thank You!
