The Enrichment Studies Unit at Queen’s University challenges students in grades 5-12 to go beyond the classroom and experience university. Explore your future with our online courses, virtual University Experiences and spring and summer programs.
For more than 30 years, the Enrichment Studies Unit at Queen’s University has connected students in grades 5 to 12 with challenging and inspiring academics alongside the dynamic learning and living environment of university life. Providing an inclusive and unmatched mix of opportunities, ESU makes an unmistakable difference: nurturing curiosity, fostering development, and enriching the potential of all students.
Enrichment Online: Week-long online courses designed and delivered by Queen's University graduate students and professionals designed for engaged students in secondary and upper year elementary school. These engaging programs can be completed in the evenings with at least 2 live sesssions for students to discuss and learn together.
March Break Virtual University Experience: A live virtual program designed to engage students in group collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving. Participants will work together to solve real-world problems and learn from Queen's professionals and graduate students in the areas of Engineering, Business, Innovation and much more.
In-Person Programs on the Queen’s University Campus:
Three to five-day programs in academics and leadership are offered during the spring and summer. Students take a course of their choice, stay in residence, experience campus life in a supervision environment with an undergraduate mentor.
* Due to the restrictions and challenges presented from the spread of COVID-19, many of these programs may move online with a program schedule set for the time and week.
Spring Programs: Enrichment Mini Course (EMC) for grade 9-12 students, Seven Eight Enrichment Days (SEEDS) for grade 7-8 students, and Five Six Enrichment Days for grade 5-6 students.
Summer Programs: Summer Enrichment Experience @ Queen's (SEEQ) for students going to grades 8 to 12.
Highlights of our programs:
Choice of one academic course from a variety of disciplines with 15 hours or 20 hours of classroom instruction over 3 to 5 days
Intensive hands-on experience in state-of-the-art facilities with Courses taught by Queen's students, faculty, and community professional who are experts in their field
Mentorship provided by Queen's University undergraduate students with full supervision at a 8:1 student:supervisor ratio
Program fees are inclusive of all costs, activities, and fees. Bursaries are available to qualified students.
