This program offers hands-on training in the field of Cybersecurity and Digital forensics. Students learn hacking techniques—as well as the strategies to defend against them—and then use real-life scenarios to build a network defense. After demonstrations by prominent experts in digital forensics, participants form teams that compete to solve an actual case by applying investigative techniques, developing a body of evidence, and presenting their conclusions.
The DFCS Academy is a two-week-long, in-depth learning experience, offered in a synchronous virtual format. High school students who are excited to pursue a career in digital forensics and cybersecurity can dive into a digital forensic lab experience while meeting new friends and building connections with industry experts.
Students in the DFCS Academy will gain hands-on learning experience from veterans of the cybersecurity industry, covering a wide breadth of digital forensics and cybersecurity, from investigating digital crimes to constructing and safeguarding networks. Students will also work together to solve real digital forensics problems faced by law enforcement agencies all over America.
At the DFCS, students will gain real, practical skills in cybersecurity. They will learn how to defend against cyberattacks, investigate digital crimes, and work both independently and as part of a team. The experience they gain in the Academy will prepare them for both college life and their future careers in cybersecurity.
