Learn a Language. Study Global Issues. Earn College Credit.
CET Global Perspectives is more than your typical educational travel program. Immersive housing, language learning, cultural activities, and seeing the sights are just the beginning. A summer with CET lets you take the experience further.
Gain a global perspective on a summer program that transforms the way you see the world!
Immerse in the daily life of your host city through excursions, site visits, and homestays abroad. Earn college credit exploring global issues through a local lens. Make new friends and memories to last a lifetime as you build language skills and explore potential careers.
The program inspires you to think critically about the world around you. Course themes are brought to life through out-of-class learning with engaging activities such as guest lectures and meetings with local organizations and community groups. While comparing local perspectives to your home context, you also share your learning and make connections in discussion with peers across all program locations around the world.
You get to know local culture through language instruction, guided tours and museum visits, and living in homestays or on a university campus. Practice your language skills at local restaurants and markets, learn to cook a new dish, and step back in time at historic landmarks. Each 4-week program abroad also features an excursion to another major city within the country, where you develop an even broader perspective.
At the end of your program, you come away with new intercultural skills, personal growth and independence, and college credit from Dickinson College as proof of your academic work. Use your newfound language skills, perspective, and life experience as you write college essays, consider majors, or take on new leadership positions in your school. CET high school program alumni are also eligible to apply for the Dickinson-CET Global Leaders Scholarship, a four-year, full-tuition scholarship to Dickinson, awarded annually to one college-bound student.
