Overview
Ceiba students develop identities as global citizens through five week cycles of local community service projects, extended adventure learning trips, and deep cultural and Spanish immersion. Ceiba affects at every level and our small groups of students ensure that your experience is personal and lifelong.
La Antigua Guatemala was the country’s capital before Guatemala City. It is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is proud of its traditions of rich indigenous and colonial customs. Antigua is a safe, metropolitan town of 30,000 residents, aking for a wonderful mix of cultures. The stunning physical beauty of Antigua, nestled in a valley amongst three volcanoes, only complements the incredible kindness, generosity, and caring of this fantastic community.
Ceiba’s High School Summer Cycles emphasize the power and impact of community service learning while enjoying all the rich beauty, warmth, and adventure of Guatemala. You have the choice of one of Ceiba’s fantastic project partners and, rather than the online component of the longer-term program, you are immersed into local culture and history with coordinated, unique trips and activities that take you from the ancient Maya to present-day Guatemala. Along with a very real, authentic immersion in Spanish language, global citizenship, and teamwork, these are five weeks that will change your life forever!
