    Overview

The Tahoe Semester is a study-away environmental humanities program. Our students explore the question, “What is Nature?” as a cohesive community through classroom learning and guided wilderness experiences along the shores of Lake Tahoe and educational excursions to internationally recognized locations.

The Tahoe Semester is a study-away program at Zephyr Point on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Tahoe Semester curriculum is centered around a standard set of undergraduate courses drawn from the humanities and natural sciences. Physical and mental wellness is underscored through a communal setting as students, faculty and staff live and work together, building strong bonds of friendship and mutual respect.

Our guided wilderness experiences include mountain biking, skiing, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, stand-up paddle boarding, trail running, and more. Our curriculum emphasizes environmental studies, humanistic inquiry, and social justice.
