Gap at CET Japan is an intensive language program designed to maximize your progress—each semester covers a year's worth of Japanese. Your teachers are experienced and dedicated, your peers are other motivated gap students and college undergraduates, and the curriculum is immersive and challenging. The program runs for Spring and Fall terms and is based in Osaka.
You are placed into the appropriate level of intensive Japanese language, participate in one-on-one targeted instruction, and uphold a limited language pledge. Japanese in Daily Life teaches you the language you need to thrive in your new day-to-day and classes take you off-campus to chat with locals and hear how Japanese is spoken colloquially.
You and other Gap at CET students from all over the world also meet virtually each week to explore topics and issues unique to gap students. This not-for-credit course is taught in English and creates a space for facilitated reflection and discussion. You learn about your personal strengths and learning styles, establish and track goals, and participate in activities that help you explore potential careers and college majors and build skills for the future.
