Learn about pre-college opportunities Summer Session 2021. Our online pre-college programs are designed to give you a preview of the UMass student experience, including college-level academics and being part of a learning community of high school students from all across the U.S. and the world.

Many students express interest in a pre-medical path with the objective of having a career that allows them to positively impact the lives of others. There are many avenues towards a career in medicine and the health sciences. The objective of this two week-long course is to highlight a path through the discipline of Kinesiology to a medical career, including research in physiology, metabolism, biomechanics, physical activity and neuroscience.

Students will have a lab kit that will allow them to take measures and participate in laboratory group experiments both virtually and hands on at home.

This program will use a mixed delivery of live lectures, discussions, and experiments as well as pre-recorded and self-paced discovery. Students will have a strong understanding of the kinesiology field and how it correlates to careers, for ex. medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, and health & fitness.

Schedule: Online Live Sessions every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, 1:00 - 4:00pm (EDT).
