Chosen as “one of the best film schools in the world” by The Hollywood Reporter, we offer small class sizes that ensure plenty of one-on-one training and mentoring from industry professionals, for a fraction of the cost of other major programs.

HANDS-ON LEARNING: At IAFT we believe that the best way to learn film production is by actually getting out there and doing it! Unlike university film schools, IAFT focuses your studies on the skills that matter. IAFT teaches through hands-on instruction where we let you experience the intricacies of film production first hand. Getting out there and doing is a great way to build experience and our expert film production mentors will help you do just that. When it comes to Cinematography and Editing, our students get the hands-on experience they need to start a career. Our training will help you hone your skills and work towards a fulfilling career as a filmmaker or an actor.

SMALLER CLASS SIZES: Because we are a boutique film school, students at IAFT benefit from some of the smallest class sizes of any film school out there.  This means you receive more training in each subject, more access to equipment, and the benefit of more one-on-one attention from our mentors. You can build your filmmaking skills faster with a small class size and more attention. What better way to start your screenwriting career than by having the one-on-one attention you need to truly polish your scripts?

FOCUS ON MENTORSHIP: At IAFT, our mentors are all veterans of the film industry. IAFT does not hire career professors. We want you to be trained by people that know what the real-world, working industry is like. Our mentors work directly with you, sharing their experience, and developing creative relationships that will last throughout your career. Learning directing from someone who has actually directed a movie or TV show is an invaluable resource.

AFFORDABLE TUITION: IAFT prides itself in offering Diploma and Certificate programs at a price you can afford. And since entertainment is not a degree driven industry, why go to a four-year university and spend tens of thousands of dollars? When you know that you want a career in the entertainment industry, why waste your time with required courses that you have no interest in? IAFT knows why you are here, and we won’t burden you with paying for classes that aren’t of use to you when you graduate. Every producer knows that where you spend your money can make or break a production. Taking advantage of our affordable tuition is the first step in learning those film budget lessons.

AN ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT:  IAFT programs are based on helping you get out there and get your career going. We want you to succeed in our classrooms, but more importantly, we want you to succeed after you graduate. IAFT career-services is always there to help you turn your dreams of working in the industry into the reality of an actual job.

GLOBAL EDGE: We aren’t just the Academy of Film and Television; we are the International Academy of Film and Television. When you study with us, you can divide your study between multiple campuses. Take the first two terms in LA, then head to Hong Kong for your final two terms. Start your diploma program in Las Vegas, then move to Antwerp to finish. Or, take one term at four different campuses. There are lots of possibilities! With our global network of graduates, we are touching the entertainment industry world-wide.
