OTOXO Productions is offering talented young people the chance to come to Barcelona, learn how to become a filmmaker, and co-direct one of our new 28 minute documentaries for Catalan TV. For anyone looking to get the very most out of their gap year, this is a unique opportunity.
Live in one of the world’s most vibrant, colourful and inspiring cities.
If you want to spend your gap year in a place brimming with culture, excitement, diversity, and style, and meet creative, passionate and talented young people from all over the world, then you will struggle to do better than Barcelona.
Co-direct a 28 minute documentary commissioned by Catalan television channel, BTV.
For anyone with an eye for visual arts, the creative industries, or the media in general, this is an incredible gap year programme because it is centred entirely around giving participants real experience. There are no practical examples, engineered studies, or mock up situations. Instead, there is a film to be made, a group of young people charged with the task of making it, and a television station waiting to screen it at the end of it all.
Meet inspiring people and help tell their stories
We make films about the unheard voices and human faces behind the big social issues. Working with us is your chance to give these people the platform they deserve. In your gap year, you can make a film, and make a difference.
Get top class tutoring and hands on experience with a real production company.
We put the participants in charge of the production, but at the same time we provide them with top class tuition and equipment to ensure they make the most of the opportunity. The documentary studies element of our training is made up of weekly tutorials covering every aspect of the filmmaking process to give participants all the skills they need to produce a film of real quality.
Learn, improve or perfect your Spanish during your gap year.
The tutors from OTOXO Productions are native English speakers but also fluent in Spanish. Productions are designed to combine the two languages to the needs of each participant, and different production roles can be conducted by participants with different levels of Spanish, from beginner to proficient. So whether you are looking to take your first steps in learning the language or take it to the next level, our productions are ideal. And also, if you want to take that extra step, with productions starting every September and January, there’s always the opportunity to fit some language studies into your gap year before you start production.
