EDGE of AFRICA offers award winning community and wildlife reserach volunteer programs in South Africa, Madagascar, Zimbabwe and Cameroon. Our programs include dolphing and whale research, teaching placements, school renovation projects, lemur research, elephant conservation and many more!
EDGE of AFRICA offers three main types of Programs:
Environmental Conservation and Wildlife Research
Through our Conservation Volunteer Programs we aim to restore and protect some of the most endangered plant and animal species in the world. We develop our programs with the help of conservation and wildlife specialists and with the help of our volunteers, we have won various awards for the incredible outcomes they have helped us achieve.
You can join us in conserving the Southern Right Whale in South Africa, or help us protect the endangered lemur species in Madagascar. We also have an award winning Elephant Conservation Program in South Africa.
Community Empowerment and Teaching
Our community volunteer projects in Africa were established with one main aim in mind- to EMPOWER locals. Through our programmes, we promote a self-sustaining community. One that is able to use the available resources to better their lives, and we encourage independence and self-worth. By joining one of our programmes, you will be giving these communities hope by providing the tools and inspiring some of the poorest communities to make a better life for themselves.
You could assist us in a pre-school in South Africa, or teach english in Madagascar. We offer a wide range of eye opening opportunities for volunteers to make a real difference to the African Communities.
Sports Coaching and Outreach
Our sports volunteer opportunities provide under privileged children with the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports and sports related activities that they would not necessarily have the chance to do. Although soccer is by far the most popular sport in Africa, we like to encourage a love for all sports, including developing hand-eye coordination and running other sports related activities.
You will be instrumental in running these various programs, given full training and walk away with a completley new perspective to life. EDGE of AFRICA really does change lives for the better and you can be part of that process!
