World Cares Center's mission is to foster locally led, sustainable disaster preparedness, response and recovery initiatives within communities worldwide. Our focus is grassroots, and supports local community members as resilient first responders.
All of World Cares Center's trainings are NIMS compliant and integrate nationally accepted models including Incident Command System and Volunteer Reception Centers. World Cares Center works with host partners such as the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management, the New Jersey State Police, the Connecticut Region II Office of Emergency Management, and the FEMA Region II Medical Reserve Corp. Our host partners' involvement, from local and state Offices of Emergency Management to community organizations, are paramount to ensuring that our trainings are adapted to meet each diverse community's needs and challenges while remaining compliant with local jurisdictions' protocols. By engaging local leaders, we put into action our strong belief in the power of properly trained citizen responders and the inevitable need to integrate this community volunteer force into official response plans.
