Windrush Farm Therapeutic Equitation (WFTE, Inc.) is a non-profit, working horse farm that has been successfully helping children and adults with physical, emotional, and learning disabilities since 1964.
Windrush Farm was one of the first therapeutic equitation centers in the United States. Located on 200 acres of woods and fields in Boxford and North Andover Massachusetts, Windrush offers equine assisted activities founded on the principle that all of us, disabled or not, are capable of more than we think.
Each year, Windrush provides an array of educational services and therapeutic activities to more than 1,700 children and adults and their families. Interested volunteers should be able to make a weekly commitment to a one hour class and be able to jog along side a horse at the trot. Windrush offers lessons for those with and without special needs, summer programs, volunteer opportunities and hippotherapy.
